Love Story

Jennifer's treasury may be one of my favorites of all time.  Love the story in pictures--especially the sweet ending.  You can find it live here.

Guessing Game

I'm trying to resist the urge to post a picture of every Etsy treasury that features a Yellow House Knits sweater (gorgeous though they all are!).  But this one posted by La Bella Joya was just too clever to pass up.

This collection of a collection of seemingly unrelated items does have a theme.  Can you guess what it is?  I had to think about it for a while, but I finally got it--only to discover that someone else already had the same idea.  If you think you know (or you're stumped), click on the treasury to see what we guessed.

Etsy Front Page Challenge

Yellow House Knits has been on Etsy for almost two years now and has never been on the front page.  Not once.  Rather than letting myself be bitter about it, I'm issuing a challenge.

As you may know, the items on the front page are chosen from Etsy treasuries, which are collections of items chosen by Etsy members.  The items often have a theme or unifying thread--color, use, texture, etc.  I've posted treasuries featuring Yellow House Knits sweaters in the past (click on the "Treasury Department" tag below to see lots of examples).

So here's the challenge:  Create a treasury (or, better yet, multiple treasuries) featuring a Yellow House Knits sweater.  If you're new to Etsy or to treasury making, you can find some tips here.  If your treasury makes it to the front page with the YHK item included, you win a $65 gift certificate to Yellow House Knits, which you can redeem for a free sweater.  Just send me an email (yellowhouseknits@gmail.com) claiming your prize.  It's that easy.  Good luck!

A New Rainbow Treasury

Check out this gorgeous treasury feauturing the Klingle Road sweater.  I think the rainbow effect is fabulous!  Love the progression from red to purple, and the bright colors are spectacular!  I also love the glam bag and the reclaimed glasses, which come from nearby Frederick, Maryland.

Be sure to take a spin past curator Shelly Rose's shop, Green Belle Designs.  Her cool eco-friendly dryer balls look like something out of a Pottery Barn catalog.  And her knit scarves are not only absolutely beautiful, but they look so warm and cozy.

I [Heart] Stripes Treasury

I just saw this stunning treasury, featuring the Jocelyn Street sweater, and wow!  I just love the pinks and reds.  And, of course, stripes are my thing.  That ring, the quilt, the graphic postcard, oh my!
The treasury was curated by By The Wayside, whose Etsy shop features all kinds of vintage treasures, from kitsch and collectibles, to dishes and glasses, books and games.  Browsing through her shop takes me right back to my grandmother's house!  Check it out.

My Baby Is Yummy Treasury

I'm a little late in posting this sweet little treasury featuring a bunch of adorable babies, including little Nora in the Spring Road sweater.  They're all yummy!
The treasury was curated by ancienesthetique, a couple in France who sell vintage French pieces, including some beautiful china.  Check out their shop here.

Back-to-Back Treasuries for Belmont Street

The Belmont Street sweater was just featured in another treasury, this one titled "Cranberry, Oatmeal, with a Touch of Honey."  I just love the bright, bold red and honey colors highlighted in this treasury.

The treasury was curated by Megan of Flow Yoga Mats.  Megan sells everything you might need for your yoga practice, including some awesome handpainted yoga mats.  Stumbling on Megan's shop is particularly timely for me because getting back into yoga is one of the things on my 35 Before 36 List.  I'm thinking that yoga would be a lot more fun if I had Megan's mat with the tulips and butterflies (check it out here!).

Baby's Handmade Holiday Treasury

The Belmont Street sweater was featured today in this beautiful Treasury, curated by Funky Wunder.  For those of you who are--like me!--still looking for gift ideas, there are some great ones here for the littlest ones on your shopping list.  Love those candy-cane striped leg warmers and the onesie with the "tie" on it.

In your shopping e-travels, be sure to wander past Funky Wunder's shop, which has a ton of gorgeous knit hats (I'm partial to the pumpkin hat for toddlers) and some lovely jewelry.

My Daughter Has Done It Again . . . Treasury

The Canal Road sweater was featured yesterday in this lovely treasury of red and blue items.  The treasury was created by NightOwlCraftworks's 13-year-old daughter, who is clearly as talented as her parents.  NightOwlCraftworks is a husband-and-wife team who make gorgeous hand-bound journals and pottery.  (She's the book binder; he's the potter.)  Sounds like their daughter has good genes (and good taste!!).

Lovely Colorful Etsy

I've been having issues with Blogger, so I'm a little slow in getting this great treasury posted.  I was so excited to see the Appleton Street sweater featured among such fun, colorful items!  I love the purple and  green theme in this treasury.

The treasury was curated by the talented Jenn of Jenn Maruska Design.  Be sure to stop by Jenn's Etsy shop.  She has some beautiful hand-sewn items, including adorable needlebook and pincushion sets.

Pink and Fushia Treasury

Madrigal Embroidery has once again included a Yellow House Knits sweater in one of her fabulous treasuries.  By now, it should be no surprise that pink is my favorite color, so this one really appeals to me!  (In case you missed it, that's the Allison Street sweater down there in the lower right corner.)

There's a lot to love in this treasury--the little winter coat, the pink beret, the crochet necklace.  So fresh and happy!

Don't forget to check out Madrigal Embroidery's shop, where "many a splendid adornment" awaits you!

Cranberry and Mustard Treasury

The Belmont Street sweater was feautured in this stunning treasury curated by Sweet Anne Vintage.  To me this treasury just screams "fall."  And I just love everything in it--that reversible bracelet, the gadget case, the vintage bag, the cocktail ring . . . just WOW!  Sweet Anne Vintage's shop is pretty neat too.  There is a vintage milk glass candy dish (that I might just have to have) and an awesome old Pepsi crate. Please be sure to take a look.

Tantalizing Color

The Macomb Street sweater was featured today in in this spectacular Treasury curated by Madrigal Embroidery.  I love all of those bright, bold colors.  I think the purple pumps and lime green bowl are particularly fabulous!

Madrigal Embroidery offers amazing "hand-embellished" jewelry and accessories, many in the same bright colors you see in the Treasury.  Her cuff bracelets are especially cool.  And, she's a girl after my own heart, as she gives a portion of her profits to a pet rescue group in San Francisco.  Swing by her Etsy shop here.

Nacarat A Tat Tat Treasury!

How gorgeous is this red and yellow Treasury, curated by Alyssa Kimberley?!  The oranges and reds are just stunning.  So rich and vibrant.  Each featured item is prettier than the next, but I particularly like those bangles from 3FUN.

Alyssa Kimberley has some beautiful handmade papers in her Etsy shop, so please check it out.

Little Sweaters and Apple Cozies Treasury

The Jocelyn Street sweater was featured yesterday in this fun Treasury from Deme Designs.  I just love all of those adorable little sweaters.  And I never knew how popular apple cozies are!

Deme Designs's Etsy shop offers an array of lovely knitted items, including some fabulous crocheted beach hats, complete with sand, starfish, and other sea life.  Be sure to take a look!

Baby Blue Love

The (recently renamed!) Garfield Street sweater was featured today in a beautiful Treasury curated by Whimsy Quilts.  I've blogged before about the dearth of fashionable clothes for boys, so I enjoyed seeing so many little ones dressed in blue.
Be sure to check out Whimsy Quilts' Etsy shop.  Desiree and Cristi have some truly lovely quilts in vibrant colors and funky patterns.

Fire Treasury

I am LOVING this gorgeous treasury, featuring a Yellow House Knits sweater.  It's ironic that just the other day I commented about how popular that sweater is.

Anyway, this one was made my Dana as an entry in the Treasury Challenge over at Claire and Janae.  Janae picks an item for sale on Etsy and those who enter have to design a Treasury that includes the item.  This week's item was the beautiful lemon drop pendant in the top row.  I think Dana did a fantastic job (and not just because I'm included!).  The winner gets a nice prize--this week a $20 Target gift card--plus a bonus if the Treasury makes the Etsy front page.  I took at look at the entries thus far and there are some other stunning ones.

Good luck Dana!  Thanks for including my sweater!

Treasury Feature: The Color Wheel Called

Yellow House Knits is currently featured in this lovely treasury curated by spongetta.  I'm flattered to be included in such a beautiful collection.  Speaking of beautiful, spongetta, aka Betsy and Sara, have some very striking pieces of their own.  I particularly love their striped shoulder bag.  See for yourself: http://www.etsy.com/shop/spongetta
