Allison Street Goes to the Beach

I got these stunning pictures of little Jayla in the Allison Street sweater that I'm so excited to share.  I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.  Jayla is an absolute doll, and the sweater looks beautiful on her.  (And I'm drooling over the stunning background.)  This sweater has some slight shaping in the waist, which is really flattering on little girls.  Just GORGEOUS!

Neutral Northampton

I'm finally posting pictures of the new Northampton Street sweater, which is available in the Etsy shop here.  Maybe I'm getting soft in my increasing old age, but lately I'm really into combining bright vivid colors with neutrals to quiet the look a little (rest assured, we're a long way from a whisper!).  I love this taupe color so much it may show up in every sweater from here on.

Interested in this sweater for a boy?  I could easily swap the pink stripes in front for red.  Just let me know.

New Buttons for Water Street

The original buttons for the Water Street sweater unfortunately aren't available in the same color combination anymore, so I had to look high and low for a replacement.  Luckily what I came up with is pretty terrific.  It's still a bright and light blue swirl, but the colors are twisted up.  The sweater is just as cute as ever!  And, as a plus, these buttons can be made in other colors, so they could be used on the Water Street sweater in another color combination.

Street Level: Madison Street

Today's Street Level takes us to Madison Street, an east-west thoroughfare that runs through the neighborhoods of Manor Park, Brightwood Park, and 16th Street Heights in Northwest D.C.   Some collectively call them North Petworth (a reference to the emerging neighborhood to the south), but these are really distinct neighborhoods with their own personalities and loyal residents.

Madison Street is mostly residential, with a distinctly urban feel, though the houses get a little grander and more spread out as the street approaches its terminus at Rock Creek Park.  On the eastern end of the street, Fort Slocum Park (in the last photo) looks like a lovely spot for pinicking in the open fields or for exploring the woods and trails at the edge of the park.

Where in the USA is YHK?

I thought it would be fun to map out the states to which I've shipped Yellow House Knits sweaters.  (The blue states indicate states that have received a YHK sweater.)  It's awesome to see how many states are represented, though it looks like a big swath of the western half of the country is missing.  What's the likelihood that someone in Hawaii will want a wool sweater?  I may have to make a trip there and leave one behind!

I'm going to aim to do it again in a year or so to see how things have changed.

Fashionista

Baby O is one fashionable young lady in her Jenifer Street sweater and leggings (although those boots are giving the sweater a run for its money in terms of kid style!)  Wonder what's caught her attention?

Third's a Charm

Kasey sent me this picture of her daughter in her Primrose Street sweater.  It was a gift a few years back for her older sister, and this little sweetie is the third one to wear it.  It makes me so happy to hear about YHK sweaters being passed down through families like that--I love that they're so loved!  Seeing so many adorable little ones wearing my creations is one of the greatest thrills--seriously!

Me and My Baby

Look at this sweetie with all of her dollies in her Yellow House Knits sweater!  You may remember that I posted a picture of this sweater not too long ago.  It's the Porter Street sweater in purple.  I love it even more now that I see Miss H. posing in it.  (Do I detect a hint of mischief in those pretty eyes?)

I get SO excited when pictures like this show up in my inbox.  Please keep them coming!

Christmas Angel

Love this little Christmas angel modeling her Yellow House Knits sweater.  This was originally a custom order for her older sister, but it looks just as adorable on #2.  It makes me so happy to see these pictures.  Best Christmas present!!
